How the monthly contribution scenarios work
This deterministic scenario uses only the assumptions you enter and compares balances at the final month-end. Method details and limitations appear below.
- No market data is queried. Results use only manual assumptions; they are not historical returns, current quotes, or forecasts.
- Optional initial capital is invested on the first day of the starting month. Recurring contributions are separate deposits at each calendar month-end, including that month’s first deposit. Market return and inflation are effective annual assumptions converted to equivalent monthly rates.
- CETES uses a common cash balance from initial capital, contributions and maturities to buy whole MXN 10 face-value securities priced with
P = 10 / (1 + rate × days / 360). Any remainder stays as cash, earns no return, and can combine with later contributions or maturities. Matured principal is reinvested at the same assumed rate for another 28 days. - The constant 28-day rate and rollover do not model actual auction dates or a real auction calendar. Calendar dates are not adjusted for weekends or holidays. A security valued between its purchase and maturity dates is an estimate using the same assumed rate and actual/360 basis.
- The inflation reference is not an investment. Taxes, fees, auction settlement timing, and other costs are excluded.
